2020 year summary of Vlad - a PYL's editor


First at all I want to thanks to all people behind Paint Your Life! Thank you a lot, PYL's team! I am glad to be a part of this team and with your help I managed to...

  • I builded an wonderful working place. 


  • I finded an wonderful job, which showed me that you always should do this what you love to do. 
  • I achieved a lot of my personal dreams during 2020. 


And because PYL is always growing I will love to see even more improvements! 

Thanks to my already 8 months working for PYL I can suggest those changes: 

  1. Clean and Efficient Email Inbox.
- I suggest the email to be used only for important messages, so that we can not miss any important emails. The automatic emails about "Customer Rejected" and "Customer Supported images" should be removed from our emails, because we see all rejected and new photos orders in our Dashboard. Repetitions are not needed and they are only lowering our efficiency. My email is very hard to be keeped clean because of so much emails and I want to focus only into my work, and if I receive any email it to be only about something that I can not see from my Dashboard. 

     2. More efficient hints and tips.
- As an editor I see very often customers who doesn't know what to expect and how the things are working. This makes me thinking that we need to work more on creating helping tips and hints and making them more attention attracting. In the games and also in some web shops there are builded brand specific animated figures who are giving nice tips and hints while you are loading the game or while you are shopping. We can create our own helping person - a some cute artist with a brush in hand, who will attract more attention to the our helping tips. 





   3. The "Notifications" button on our Dashboard is not functional.  
- When I open my rejected orders I can see the customer's remarks there. Why I should instead of that waste my time and go through the "Notifications" button and read there the customer's remarks? 

  4. Slack. 
- The unpaid and free version of Slack that we are using is blocking me to check for old useful messages from my teammates. I tried to search for some old messages about Wacoom's tablets, but I couldn't. One free alternative that I know is a personal server with Synology NAS that can be located into our office. 

5. PYL's server goes slow sometimes. 
- The last year I had often very slow loading speed from PYL. This was slowing my work speed, because the images were loaded too slow, but I think it is a bigger problem for the customers.

6. Multi-file upload for uploading edits. 
- Please, please, please! We need there only one button who can select and upload up to 3 files together. 

7. Dashboard list. 
- Please, set the dashboard to sorting and to shows firstly the oldest orders and some bigger lists per page, because 25 is too small list. I am always changing it to 200, but 100 is still ok. 

8. Download all's button is not functional.
- The my idea about this button was to simplify more the our working process. Because when we have a big order with 10 figures and 20 images it is a kind of trouble to download by single clicks all images. The download all button should be modified to automatically selects all images and then to auto-start the download. If you should first select by single clicks all images and then to click this "download" button that's not a big help.
